About Mary Anne Hall
Dr Mary Anne Hall founded Hall-Thorpe Sports in 2006. It was her aim to develop a sports and activity based program for children that catered for changing social trends. These trends include the increasing prevalence of technology, the rise of dual income families, and increased fear surrounding child safety - with all of these factors combining to result in more sedentary lifestyles for children. Hall-Thorpe Sports has addressed this issue, and has evolved as an organisation committed to quality activity based childcare. As a result of its high quality programs, Hall-Thorpe Sports continues to grow, and prides itself on its highly committed staff. Hall-Thorpe Sports staff are frequently commended for their professionalism, and importantly, for their exceptional care of children.
Mary Anne takes a holistic approach to provision of programming, and as such, attempts to ensure programs are delivered in a stimulating, yet non-competitive framework. It is her belief that children are more likely to engage in physical activity when they are comfortable, and are not experiencing outside pressure or expectation. As a result of this philosophy, participation rates in Hall-Thorpe Sports programs are high, and children generally participate freely and with a high level of enjoyment. Mary Anne has been in the education sector for over 15 years and within childcare for 10 years. She has lectured at the University of Southern Queensland in a range of subjects including Hman Development: Childhood to Adolescence. She has extensive knowledge of childhood development, and strives daily to meet the physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs of children in her care. Mary Anne Hall focuses on providing a supportive, non-threatening and natural environment to maximize children’s learning potential.
Mary Anne also owns Active Pathways Early Childhood Centre, which is a 40 place Long Day Care and Kindergarten. She also owns Rosemont Cottage Eco-Early Education and Care, which is a 27 place boutique Kindergarten and Long day Care Centre in Toowoomba. Mary Anne also owns and operates EPEC Training and Recruitment and EPEC Education, which provide recruitment and training in the education and care sectors.
